Gay Newsletter
Amsterdam is one of the gay-friendliest cities in Europe. In
1987 the Homomonument, situated on the Westermarkt in the centre of
Amsterdam, was unveiled. The Homomonument was designed to inspire
and support lesbians and gays in their struggle against denial,
oppression and discrimination. In 2001, the Netherlands became the
first nation to grant same-sex marriages. An overview of gay events
